Amsterdam-based Stefan Vincent's versatility across techno, acid and IDM comes through clearly on this Aquaregia debut in which he uses the 303 as connective tissue across four distinct moods. 'Soothing the Beast' opens with polyrhythmic tension as squelching acid lines lock into crisp halftime breaks until interference resolves into something more coherent. 'Full Scope' pulls the pace right down with a growling acid line carrying the focus. 'Degauss' flips the energy back up with a recursive, high-octane groove, before 'Paranoid Origin' closes things on a euphoric note, with breaks and shimmering arpeggios dissolving outward. Plenty of range here, and all of it does the trick.
