Announcing Nicola Dal Sacco's first solo EP on Aquaregia
Aquaregia treats us to an acid-soaked techno ‘Wirrwarr’ EP by Nicola Dal Sacco.
Nicola Dal Sacco favours the jolted basslines of his trusted TB-303 and the razor-sharp rhythm of his TR-606 drum machine. ‘Wirrwarr’ embodies this, revving up with robust drums and swirling pads for what is a sunrise escapade along a mountain pass, daybreak approaching as warm beaming pads shine through the mix. Next up is ‘Gelato’, a spellbinding offering that melds serpentine acid lines with vintage flair, snaking through narrow hillside corridors marked by cascading tribal rhythms.
‘Parapiglia’ continues the trip with eerie glitched-out pads, a night-time excursion through enchanted forests, haunting mist rolling over the road as ethereal pads emerge through its subtle percussion. Closing out the release, ‘Linea’ guides us down the final stretch through the foothills with viscous grooves and a chilled-out ambient atmosphere, wrapping up an oneiric release where reality seems to merge with lucid dreams.
Following up last year’s contribution to Aquaregia’s ‘Acid Analects’ compilation, Nicola Dal Sacco returns to the label for four more cuts of squelchy acid goodness. The Veronese techno producer has been around since the ’90s, his analog wizardry landing on labels such as Arsenic Sound, Media Records and Kadabra Records.
